Line gun Vs any slasher is incredibly effective, except the laser traps are kind of just mehh, and in fact when you're trying to run away they can damage Issac. It can take on any enemy and often ends up with an abundance of ammo. It's a really versatile weapon, except for the swarmers. Plasma cutter is just amazing, goes without saying. Aim for limbs and they can die in like half a second when it's fully upgraded, and it's surprisingly ammo efficient! It is by far and away the best weapon in the game for the vast majority of encounters when supported by the likes of the plasma cutter to offset ammo usage. This gun is deadly in almost any scenario, with great range and damage. You don't even need the alt fire because it's just overkill. Contact Beam is so powerful with a few upgrades that it can literally melt any necromorph in seconds. It just doesn't seem to have the stopping power that I want and chews through ammo even if you're accurate #4: Pulse Rifle - although ultra-versatile, just doesn't do it for me.Line gun also deals a ton of damage, and the mines are very useful if you put them on walls, but think I prefer the contact beam. The PFD for the contact beam staggers & melts enemies and the SFD of the contact beam is basically a bazooka, similar to the original dead space trilogy. #3: "The Big Gun" - Personally a toss up between the contact beam and line gun, but I lean contact beam.Flamethrower is also great at killing those pesky guardians with secondary fire flame wall Flamethrower - haven't seen this getting much love, but the flamethrower is just plain fun, and also staggers enemies while they writhe in pain. Also great for lurchers when they run up on you. Ripper is great for staggering charging enemies, holding a horde back, or cutting them to ribbons after stasis when they're coming in close.NOTE - a full rack of force gun sells for $6K credits, so you can farm ammo upgraded force gun blasts enemies back with stasis allowing you to finish them off with another weapon, or just walk up on them and blast them in the face while they're down. Force Gun: - standard force gun buys you breathing room.#2: Close range (pick your fave for those "oh shit" moments):. #1: Plasma Cutter is still the GOAT - best gun in the game.Just finished 2nd playthrough on Hard - used it to experiment with different weapons at the cost of credits. Feel free to flame me in the comments below for my love of the flamethrower ). Just my initial thoughts so far after 2 full playthroughs I'm sure it will change over time. That being said this weapon is definitely a personal favorite and my opinion might change after a few more runs.ĭ tier - Pulse Rifle: If I am doing something wrong please enlighten me no kap but this weapon just did not feel rewarding to use at all and for me personally was outclassed by everything else in the game. Force gun - I actually used this weapon the least tbh but from what I can tell it was amazing at close range literally melting off all the necromorph's skin and making them an easy target for a smaller arm aka PC or RIP.Ĭ tier - Line Gun: Not a bad choice for close range by any means however I just felt like this weapon in particular needed the most power nodes to really shine. Plasma Cutter : I don't really have too much too say here this weapon will always be good in pretty much any scenario and fully upgraded with the DOT will delimb morphs quick.ī tier - Ripper : This I found to be a good alternative to the plasma cutter for those needing a change of pace but don't let that fool you it can hold its own especially when being rushed by multiple enemies and stagger them FOR DAYS. S tier - Contact beam is a literal railgun when fully upgraded and is by far your best bet for taking out any necromorph ASAP.Ī tier - Flamethrower : This is no meme this freaking thing is insane in remake and can help you control packs of necromorphs while being extremely ammo efficient also the alt fire is insane. Here's more or less how I felt after hard/impossible runs.
